Function Room...

We have a function room that is available

to book for your private use, free of charge (subject to availability).

Whether it be a birthday, christening, anniversary, engagement,

leaving do, funeral, office meeting or something different...

The room seats approximately 40 people, however larger parties are welcome.

We can offer private use of the back garden if the weather permits.

Catering and/or live music can be arranged.

Six real ales on tap and a large selection of fine whisky.

Terms & conditions of hire:

The room seats approximately 40 people, however, we do take bookings for larger parties, however, some guests would obviously be expected to stand.There is no cost for the use of the room however we require a £50 deposit to secure the booking which is refunded at the end of the function provided the terms and conditions are adhered to.

The room will be exclusive for your guests only. Signs will be put at the bottom and top of the stairs indicating that the room is booked for use of a private function.

Decoration: Guests are allowed to decorate the room with balloons, flowers, table clothes, banners and posters etc. Our only request is that small sequins, confetti or party poppers are not used as the are easily spread all over the pub and take a long time to clean up.

Can must be taken not to damage walls etc when putting up posters and banners.

Music: The music in the function room is fed from the pubs own sound system. The function room can have the volume adjusted to your liking; however, the volume cannot be so loud that it disturbs other customers who are not part of your party.

Guests cannot bring their own music sources (i.e. stereos or ipod docking stations) for their own use.

We do allow live music in the pub however any bands / musicians would have to be agreed by us in the first place before any bookings are arranged. We do not allow DJ’s in the pub.

Music cannot be played outside the building.

Corkage: All drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) must be supplied by The Ferry Tavern. Champagne or sparkling wine must be ordered in advance of your function.

If you wish to supply your own champagne then permission must first be granted by The Ferry Tavern and a corkage fee of £10 per bottle will apply.

Any champagne brought by the guests must be delivered to The Ferry Tavern prior to the function and will be served on request.

Use of champagne glasses, ice buckets and ice is free of charge if the champagne is supplied by The Ferry Tavern. A £15 charge on top of corkage fees will apply if the guest supplies their own.

Catering: Catering can be arranged by the person wishing to book the room or The Ferry tavern can assist.

The Ferry Tavern can offer cones of our famous fish & chips , or we can recommend outside caterers.

If guests wish to arrange their own outside catering or do a buffet themselves then they will have to supply their own cutlery, napkins and tidy up there own supplies.

Sunday night vacation at 8:30pm: The room is only available for hire up until 8:30pm on a Sunday due to the use of the room being required for our weekly quiz night. Sundays can be ideal days for christening functions that aren’t expected to last all day.

Damages: If any accidental or deliberate damage is caused to any furniture or property belonging to The Ferry Tavern then the person responsible will be expected to pay for the replacement or repair of the property. 

Children: Our licence states that all persons under the age of 18 years old are prohibited from entering the bar area and must also be off the premises by 8:30pm. 

All children must be under parental control whilst in the pub.

Licensing laws: Even though the room can be hired for private functions licensing laws still apply.

No person should buy or permitted consumption of alcohol for anyone under the age of 18 years old. 

No smoking is permitted anywhere within the building or in doorways of the building.
